Border Town is a new-ish business in Greenpoint!

Border Town has been a well-loved pop-up for over 4 years. We've become known for our homemade Sonoran-style flour tortillas that are hand-rolled for our tacos. Now, we've expanded into a full-service restaurant on Nassau Avenue!

We're looking for a Lead Line Cook to be a responsible leader in our kitchen, alongside our Chef & Founder, Jorge Aguilar. This position will not only be a vocal leader, but will help us maintain a high level of consistency across all of our food while mentoring our younger cooks on how to cook, cut, and work in a bustling kitchen. The Lead Line Cook will also help us maintain a clean work environment, assist in maintaining inventory, and keep the kitchen and the staff organized. Above all else, we're looking for someone with good communication skills who's interested in learning and sharing what they know to help better others.

Some responsibilities of this position include:

• Assist in inventory and ordering for the kitchen
• Supervise the kitchen staff before, during, and after service
• Coordinating with the Chef and Owner, Jorge Aguilar, to ensure the success of our dishes
• Maintaining a food safe environment
• Maintaining food costs for all products
• Maintain a strict sanitation program in line with NYC DOH.
• Coaching and mentoring staff on how to accurately reproduce recipes and learn essential techniques
• Be a leader within Border Town who helps create our culinary vision

This is a Full-Time position with days off on Monday and Tuesday.
