AmeriCorps – Water Quality Green Puyallup Specialist Pierce Conservation District is looking for an AmeriCorps member to serve as Water Quality Green Puyallup Specialist from September 2026 through July 2027. Nature & Purpose of the Position The Green Puyallup Partnership is seeking a passionate and dedicated Habitat Stewardship Specialist to join our team. This position will support our Habitat Stewardship Program through a variety of tasks including habitat restoration, data management, organizing workshops and trainings, and engaging in community outreach efforts. Additionally, the specialist will assist with project‑based water quality monitoring activities. Primary Job Responsibilities Project Management/Capacity Building Develop work plan and actively manage habitat restoration at a local site Support stream restoration activities and manage volunteers Develop outreach materials and promote educational workshops Assist water quality monitoring projects Water quality data entry and analysis Professional Development Research and attend trainings to further personal professional development Participate in PCD’s AmeriCorps Leadership Development program Attend meetings as a representative of the District and network with environmental community Other tasks to be assigned based on Member’s interest Qualifications Required Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities Excellent organization, including event and meeting planning and facilitation, data tracking, and report writing Self‑starter, effectively plans own schedule, and ability to work well independently with guidance Excellent verbal and written communication skills; comfortable presenting in front of community members via workshops, leading work parties, and networking events Ability to understand and communicate on a variety of natural resource topics Knowledge of and passion for environmental issues Strong attention to detail and excellent Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills Availability for evenings and weekends Vehicle and valid driver’s license Preferred Knowledge of Pierce County area and community Knowledge of habitat restoration practices Monthly stipend of $2,438.10 before deductions and withholdings Education award upon completion of service that can be used for future schooling or to pay off existing qualified student loan debt (upon successful completion of the service term, subject to federal tax) Workers compensation coverage Assistance with childcare costs Forbearance (temporarily postponing paying off a loan) of qualified student loans during the service term Payment of interest on qualified student loans that accrued during the service term (paid after successful completion of service term) Access to fresh fruits and vegetables during the growing season Leadership, project management, and natural resource training #J-18808-Ljbffr Pierce Conservation District
