Experience inspecting pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping systems, tanks, or other pressure-code equipment. Strong experience executing Inspection and Test Plans, including hold points, witness points, milestone inspections, and final inspections. Experience reviewing WPS/WPQ, welder qualifications, MTRs, NDE, hydrotest results, NCRs, and turnover documentation. Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the maturity to work diplomatically and independently with fabricators, contractors, and project teams.Job Description: Insight Global is seeking a Capital Project Inspector, Stationary Equipment to support capital projects across multiple industrial sites throughout the United States. This individual will provide end-to-end quality inspection coverage for newly fabricated and installed stationary equipment, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, piping systems, pressure relief devices, and fired equipment. The inspector will support projects throughout fabrication, construction, installation, testing, commissioning, and final turnover. The successful candidate will travel to fabrication shops to conduct supplier assessments, shop audits, fabrication surveillance, and milestone inspections in accordance with project drawings and Inspection and Test Plans. Responsibilities will include confirming that materials meet purchase specifications, inspecting equipment fit-up, reviewing welding procedures and welder qualifications, witnessing hold points and hydrostatic tests, and verifying NDE results and material traceability. The inspector will identify nonconformances, work diplomatically with fabricators and project stakeholders to address deficiencies, and verify that corrective actions are completed before work progresses. Once equipment arrives on-site, the inspector will monitor installation and testing activities, support turnaround execution, and ensure that all required quality records are complete, accurate, and traceable. They will review turnover packages, redlines, coatings documentation, test reports, and final equipment databooks to confirm readiness for commissioning and Pre-Startup Safety Review activities. The inspector will provide recommendations regarding equipment acceptance, while final approval remains with the designated internal project or quality authority. This is a contract position requiring approximately 50% + travel to fabrication facilities and industrial sites throughout the United States. Candidates may be based anywhere in the United States but should live near a major airport. Extended on-site coverage may be required during scheduled turnarounds. Insight Global
