Temporary Mental Health Worker FT (Summer Position)

Butler Hospital Patient Advocate

Provides role as patient advocate through role modeling of standards of performance and by communicating and meeting patients' needs for service. Assists registered nurses in direct care of patients, specifically patients' activities of daily living. Insures a safe and therapeutic environment on the unit through observation monitoring, interacting and providing/assisting in groups.

Nursing students or bachelor's degree in any of the social sciences preferred and/or comparable behavioral health experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Experience in working with mentally ill and/or developmentally delayed clients.

Candidate must have excellent written skills.

Excellent communication skills.

Third shift availability only, 11p-7:30a. Must be available to work on weekends.

Butler is a 200 bed inpatient behavioral health facility.

Candidates will gain experience working with our different populations:

• Senior Specialty
• Intensive Treatment
• Adolescent/Young Adult
• Addiction & Chemical Dependency
• General Treatment

We provide training continued mentorship throughout the summer.

This is a summer temporary full-time position that will start in May/June and may run as long as September.
