Speech and Language Pathologist

J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center, Pathways Strategic Teaching Center – Coventry, Rhode Island. Starting Date: Immediately. Job Description Coordinator of Communication & SLP provides quality speech/language services to students at Pathways Strategic Teaching Center and reports directly to the Director of Special Education. The role involves developing augmentative and functional communication systems, conducting assessments, providing direct and indirect services, and training staff. Responsibilities Assist in developing communication goals and objectives for Individual Education Plans (IEP) and lesson plans. Obtain consultation from other team members when needed. Maintain licensure and professional knowledge by participating in professional organizations, conferences and services. Document all activities in compliance with licensure regulations and agency policies. Follow agency guidelines and department policies regarding time off, call‑in policies, dress codes, etc. Develop communication programs, augmentative and functional communication systems, and provide staff training. Provide individual or group direct speech/language therapy in accordance with IEP goals. Provide indirect and consultative speech/language therapy as indicated. Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations. Conduct student evaluations and provide oral and written information to parents and team members. Document services consistent with Department of Education regulations. Collaborate to provide services that incorporate ABA methodologies. Qualifications Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC). Licensed to practice as a Speech‑Language Pathologist in Rhode Island. Certification through Rhode Island Department of Education. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience; master’s degree preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
