A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting procurement operations by sourcing materials and services needed to meet business and project objectives. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to manage purchasing activities, negotiate pricing and terms, and ensure timely delivery of goods. Daily responsibilities include analyzing purchasing requirements, issuing RFQs, evaluating supplier proposals, resolving supplier-related issues, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. This position contributes directly to supply chain performance and overall business success.


How You'll Make an Impact

• Manage purchasing activities for assigned commodities, executing sourcing strategies and ensuring timely delivery of materials and supplies.
• Review requisitions and supply plans for domestic and international purchases, supporting negotiations on pricing, terms, conditions, and quality requirements.
• Serve as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal stakeholders, expediting orders as needed to support engineering, project management, and quality teams.
• Analyze market conditions and supplier capacity to identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and source new suppliers to strengthen the supply base.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives by collaborating with suppliers, identifying savings opportunities, and implementing cost improvement actions.
• Act as the SAP S/4HANA Procurement Key User, supporting gap-fit analysis, data validation, user acceptance testing, end-user training, and change management activities during and after system implementation.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in related discipline and minimum 5 years of successful experience in purchasing. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to apply knowledge of field of specialization to the successful completion of complex assignments. Identify and resolve complex problems and issues.
  
• Ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere, using an organized and disciplined approach.
  
• Comfortable working in an international environment and willing to travel internationally. Ability to travel 10% of time both domestically and internationally.
  
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
