About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) Experience: 2 years of acute inpatient PCU experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Acute care nursing experience - Patient assessment skills - Care plan development - Clinical intervention monitoring - Patient and family education Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The role promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes, the RN assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN utilizes educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and in mentoring/precepting staff. Job Responsibilities: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition; demonstrates sound independent decision-making. Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care, and reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patients and families along with interdisciplinary services; utilizes resources appropriately to support organizational and patient needs. Evaluation: Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Education: Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs during their stay and at discharge. Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel; functions as a mentor/preceptor; promotes teamwork; communicates opportunities for improvement; participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes. Complies with regulatory standards and participates in the governance model.
