Data Center Engineer

Data Center Engineer

Our client, located in Memphis, TN, is currently in need of a Data Center Engineer for a 12 month contract. The consultant will work onsite in support of data center operations, documentation and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day data center operational support
Escort and coordinate with dispatched field engineers
Manage parts shipping, receiving, and inventory
Maintain and update environment documentation (serial numbers, elevations, runbooks, etc.)
Coordinate with colocation teams for power, cooling, and facility maintenance activities
Execute customer-directed system and version updates
Proactively monitor servers and notify customers of issues
Open and manage service requests; triage and coordinate break/fix activities with Dell support
Perform troubleshooting, log collection, and follow vendor-recommended resolutions
Support firmware upgrades and hardware break/fix activities
Handle parts replacement and hardware deployment
Perform OS installation, GPU configuration, and any testing
Conduct system testing and validation to ensure operational readiness
Handle random or urgent issues as they arise, serving as flexible escalation and coordination point.

Required Skills:

Ability to work onsite in Memphis, TN 100%
Basic network experience
Basic server experience
Linux log experience
