Job Purpose and Summary Our Pharmacy Managers play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence in their pharmacy by acting as a role model, fostering genuine care, and setting the bar for their team. You will lead and develop a pharmacy team that provides exceptional patient care by promoting best practices, leading through change, and addressing performance opportunities. You’ll support program awareness, onboard new hires, and recognize colleagues for their success. The Pharmacy Manager consistently embodies best practices in dispensing, counseling, and immunizing while abiding by all legal and regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities Live our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices. Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening performance measures through coaching and consistent follow‑up. Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails. Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, coaching the team, and proactively resolving insurance or medication issues. Proactively offer and deliver immunizations; support technicians in learning to immunize. Manage pharmacy inventory, coaching the team on best practices with a focus on protecting cold chain products. Conduct onboarding for technicians and pharmacists, ensuring all trainees complete required training and licensure. Ensure operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalated issues to the Rx DL as needed. Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a talent pipeline of cross‑trained colleagues. Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, managing performance and delivering annual reviews. Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs; delegate pharmacy schedule creation as appropriate. Review business reporting for operational insights and develop action plans to close gaps. Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, opening the door for feedback and taking action. Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills and seek opportunities to expand knowledge to better support patients. Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services. Understand and comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical principles; support patient safety and privacy; maintain a safe and inclusive workplace. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. 1–2 years of experience as a Pharmacist. Essential Functions Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Complete required training within the designated timeframe. Attention and Focus Concentrate on tasks over time; pivot quickly between tasks; confirm prescription information and label accuracy. Customer Service and Team Orientation Look for ways to help people in a friendly manner; notice and respond to patient reactions. Communication Skills Use verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues; actively listen and ask appropriate questions. Mathematical Reasoning Use math to solve problems such as determining days’ supply and bottle quantities. Problem Resolution Identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action among multiple options. Physical Demands Be mobile and remain upright; lift, scan, and bag items; reach overhead; move fingers repetitively; lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally. Team Management and Leadership Lead by example; delegate tasks; empower team members; motivate and inspire; apply problem‑solving skills; adapt and take ownership; coach, reinforce, and provide feedback or discipline as needed. Any additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager. Preferred Qualifications Completion of the CVS Pharmacy Manager Emerging Leader (PM‑EL) program. 3–5 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs. Working Conditions Anticipated Weekly Hours: 37 Time Type: Full time Pay Range: $65.00 – $85.00 per hour. Physical Demands: As listed under Essential Functions.
