Newell Brands is searching for a highly motivated Product Engineer to play a key role in new product development efforts and implement improvements to existing products.This position will:Support new product development and sustaining engineering activities from concept through production launch, ensuring alignment with defined product, cost, quality, safety, and regulatory requirementsWork cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, sourcing, and supply chain teams to support product development and project executionEnsure product compliance with applicable quality, safety, and regulatory requirements and escalate risks as appropriateKey Responsibilities:Review product designs, CAD models, and engineering documentation to assess fit, function, and manufacturabilityDevelop test plans and support execution of validation and performance testing activitiesApply quality engineering tools, including FMEA, Control Plans, and PPAP, during product and process developmentExecute changes in the product using change control processInvestigate product and process issues, including data collection, root cause analysis, and participation in CAPA activitiesSupport customer and consumer complaint investigations and resolution of quality issuesAnalyze product and process data to identify trends and support findings and recommendationsParticipate in tooling reviews, manufacturing trials, and production qualification activitiesMaintain engineering and quality documentation, including specifications, risk assessments, and validation recordsTravel domestically and internationally as neededQualifications:Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering or Plastics Engineering preferred)4 plus yrs product development experience preferably with plasticsProblem Solving, Organizational, Planning and prioritization, multi-tasking skillsBasic competency with CAD (Solidworks or Creo) with ability to complete detailed review of 3D models and assessment of 2D drawingsWorking knowledge of quality methods and systems, including statistics, sampling, auditing, and structured problem?solving methodologiesUnderstanding of plastic molding and extrusion manufacturing process, capabilities and design requirements desiredDemonstrates strong interpersonal and project management skillsMust be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Preferred Qualifications:Competencies with other materials and manufacturing technologies (e.g., metals)Experience in consumer product is plusExperience/competency with Electronics is plus*Please note this position will not be able to sponsor H1B visa or support OPT status.
