Department Automation & Equipment Employment Type Full Time Location California - Sacramento Reporting To Director of Engineering Compensation $70,000 - $105,000 per year Summary The Automation and Equipment Technician will work closely with the Director of Engineering in the research and development of new processing and packaging technologies to ensure business needs are consistently met. This role is responsible for establishing and meeting timelines, adhering to budgets, maintaining effective vendor relations, and managing the complexities of equipment acquisitions and implementations. Duties and Responsibilities Execute and follow established equipment acquisition implementation program Analyze demand for equipment supplies and forecast future needs Support management and facilities maintenance departments with necessary building modifications to accommodate equipment Report on and update project management systems Monitor and ensure compliance with equipment vendor specifications, contract terms, after‑sale support, and follow‑up Understand the operation of all company equipment and maintain it to operate at the highest efficiency possible Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies Maintain timely completion of preventative maintenance, assigned work orders, and continuous improvement tasks Maintain a clean and safe work environment Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Automation and Equipment Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance of industrial equipment (food manufacturing related experience highly preferred) Understanding of control wiring, including PLC logic, to keep equipment running efficiently and safely Knowledge and experience of hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment for daily tasks Experience with packaging and cooking automation flow is very highly desirable Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of accuracy Effective communication skills in English, both verbally and written Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively across departments and levels of management Ability to parse broad concepts and turn them into tangible outputs Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) Must be 21 years of age or older; state regulations require applicants to be 21+ Must obtain all required state permits, licenses, and certifications Will be required to submit to a background check Travel between sites will be required Computer skills: proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and data analysis Preferred: Food Handlers Card or ServSafe certification Benefits Competitive salary of $70,000 – $105,000 per year, 11 paid holidays, 120 hours of PTO, 401(k), and fully paid health, dental, and vision insurance.
