Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in the state of Texas or compact Certifications: Current BLS certification required Current ACLS certification required Current PALS certification required Current TNCC certification required Must-Have: Moderate sedation competency, Epic experience, Triage experience Description: The competent nurse practices independently in a similar clinical setting. Demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to meet long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage clinical contingencies. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to manage clinical situations. Meets expectations of the applicable competencies in leadership. Consistently provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Administers medications and treatments as per the appropriate protocol. Monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the prescribed treatment. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers. Identifies issues and resources to support patient care.
