Custodian PositionWoodland Hills School District Position: Custodian (4:00PM-12:00AM) Building: Edgewood Elementary STEAM Academy Reports To: Facilities Director and Building PrincipalQualifications:High School Graduate or equivalentValid driver's license if applicablePennsylvania Child Abuse ClearancePennsylvania Criminal Record CheckFBI Federal Criminal HistoryAbility to follow written and verbal directionsAbility to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervisionDuties and Responsibilities:Routine Responsibilities:Lock doors in hallways as required by the principalResponsible to open and close facilities used by evening groupsAssist with snow removal on sidewalks and stepsKeep custodial closet neat and orderlyLock exterior gates by auditorium and tennis courts as directed by the principalManage building supplies as neededWeeding of school groundsDaily removal of litter on school groundsDaily Classroom Responsibilities:Sweep floor and wet mop if necessaryDust all furniture, windowsills, baseboards, shelves and blackboard traysRemove marks from walls, furniture, woodwork, doors and light fixturesClean chalkboards when necessaryClean windows when necessaryEmpty wastepaper baskets and pencil sharpenersLock all windows and doors when completedScour sinksFill towel cabinets and soap dispensers if applicableRun sweeper on floors dailyReplace burnt out lampsSweep, mop and buff halls when requiredDust all classroom window frames and hall vents routinelyClean all water fountains and coolers in sectionClean all pay phones and hall gates in section every dayDaily Restroom Responsibilities:Sweep and wet mop floors (use germicidal cleaner)Scour commodes, urinals and sinks completelyRemove markings from walls and partitions routinelyFill soap, tissue and towel dispensersClean mirrors and dispensersOther Responsibilities:For summer cleaning, supervisor and will assign employees to other facilities as neededGrass trimming of school groundsIf you have a Certified Pool Operator's license, you will be required to have the responsibility of the pool at Junior High and the High School and the AcademyAssist with any additional assignments as requested by Supervisor or PrincipalPosition Specifications:Physical Demands:Standing and walking for long periods of timeLifting up to 75 poundsManual dexterity to use equipment, tools and maintenance equipmentClimbing and working off step ladders and extension ladders up to 6 feetTemperament:Ability to work as a member of a team and/or aloneMust be courteousMust be cooperative, congenial and service-oriented and promote these qualities in the operations and maintenance departmentTerms of Employment:260 days a year Salary determined by negotiated contractInterested candidates must apply through our online applicant tracking system and submit a letter of interest, resume, official transcripts/HS Diploma, PA Criminal, Child Abuse and FBI clearances and three letters of reference on or before 3:00pm, September 14, 2026.
