Regional Director Of DevelopmentThe Regional Director of Development (RDD) supports Major Gift initiatives in the assigned area. The RDD works in tandem with area volunteer leaders and appropriate professional leadership to develop and execute a fundraising strategy for current and prospective major donors in the Metro region. The RDD will have his/her own portfolio of donors and will supervise a regional team of fundraisers. This role will be responsible for building the pipeline of major donors and establish realistic and ambitious goals over time. The Director's personal fundraising will focus on the NY Metro region and New Jersey.Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain knowledge of Hadassah and its gift and recognition policiesPartner with national, regional, and local volunteers with a focusing on major gifts of $25,000 or moreBuild a personal portfolio of major donor prospects and donors at all stages of development and develop a robust new prospecting process including participation as needed in principal gifts prospecting and strategy-buildingIn close coordination with the Senior Director, Principal & Major Gifts ensure the priorities of the HWZOA are effectively communicated to the team and the regionEstablish a supervision protocol that includes ensuring the team's understanding of pipelines, challenges, and opportunities for learningWork with appropriate staff and volunteers to ensure the fundraising success of regional events that are focused on current major donors, or engaging new major donor prospectsMentor regional staff and volunteers in all aspects of individual and relationship-based fundraisingAssist in preparing the region's budget and expensesCollaborate with Hadassah Office in Israel (HOI) on appropriate proposals, donor strategy, donor visits, and additional tasks as neededMaintain effective communications with area and national volunteers and staffSubmit donor contact and fundraising activity reports as required, input donor activity info into database, and ensure all fundraisers in the region are doing the sameProvide reports on progress of the region as requestedOther duties and special projects as requiredRequired Knowledge, Education, ExperienceBA plus 7-10 years relevant experienceAbility and proven track record of directly and independently soliciting and closing major giftsExperience working with volunteers at all levels, as well as training and partnering with them for individual donor cultivations and solicitationsDatabase and computer literacy, specific knowledge of Salesforce and Monday preferredKnowledge of and level of comfort with development best practicesAbility to represent Hadassah at public eventsResponsive to deadlines and service to multiple assignmentsRequired Skills:Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including strong diplomatic skillsStrong organizational skillsAbility to work independently in a hybrid/remote environment, as well as with teamsAbility to impart enthusiasm and positive image of HadassahKnowledge and familiarity with the Metro Jewish community and the Jewish philanthropic communityRegional (est. 25%) and local travel, including some evening and weekend and occasional national and international travel
