About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Profession: RN Specialty: RN - ER Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 or 48 hours/week from 630 to 1900, with rotating days and weekend rotation Experience: Minimum years of experience required. License: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required Certifications: - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor: Required - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS): Required - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): Required - Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM): Required - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP): Required Must-Have: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred Acute care facility experience: Preferred Description: Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordinates care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment. Collects relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation. Analyzes the assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues. Develops a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes. Implements the plan and coordinates care delivery. Employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Evaluates progress toward attaining outcomes. Identifies outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation. Collaborates with the team of patients, families, and healthcare providers in providing patient care in a safe and humane environment. Provides learning opportunities for patients/family members and team members. Directly provides health information to patients and families. Participates in discharge planning to provide continuity of care. Delegates appropriately and coordinates duties of healthcare team members. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. This department provides triage, treatment, and support for trauma and emergency patients of all ages in an acute care setting.
