Role Description The Case Management Nurse is a contract role responsible for coordinating medical care and services for injured individuals, ensuring appropriate treatment, timely recovery, and cost-effective outcomes. This hybrid position is based in the San Antonio, Texas Metropolitan Area, with some work‑from‑home flexibility. Daily responsibilities include assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and monitoring progress to support safe and efficient discharge planning. The Case Management Nurse will perform utilization management activities, review treatment plans for medical necessity and quality of care, and communicate clearly with patients, employers, and payers. The role also involves documenting clinical findings, maintaining regulatory compliance, and contributing to continuous improvement of IMO’s managed care programs. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong case management skills, including care coordination and advocacy for appropriate services. Candidates should possess nursing and medicine-related skills to assess clinical needs, interpret medical information, and support evidence-based care. Candidates should possess discharge planning skills to facilitate safe transitions of care and support timely return to work. Candidates should possess utilization management skills to evaluate medical necessity, efficiency of services, and adherence to guidelines. Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas (or compact license) in good standing preferred. Experience in workers’ compensation, occupational health, or managed care settings preferred. Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. Proficiency with electronic medical records and strong organizational and time management abilities.
