Special Operations Physical Therapist – TEMP POSITION (Onsite Fort Bragg, NC) We are seeking a licensed independent practitioner to provide evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions for military Soldiers and astronauts. The role requires credentialing as a direct‑care provider in specific HP settings and offers relocation to Fort Bragg, NC. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Evaluate and treat patients with or without referrals. Refer patients to other POTFF staff members as needed. Provide neuro‑musculoskeletal injury care and utilize approved privileges (ordering imaging, labs, pharmaceuticals, dry needling, acupuncture, joint injections, and referrals to specialty providers). Directly supervise the PT tech, PT assistant, and/or certified athletic trainer (ATC) within their scope of practice when directed by the HP Program Manager and/or Coordinator. Participate in periodic meetings with HP and POTFF to review patient care and identify improvement opportunities. Advise the HP Program Manager and/or Coordinator on sports medicine, rehabilitation, injury prevention, and human performance research. Advise on administrative matters, purchasing supplies and equipment, and supplemental fiscal requests. Conduct equipment, product, and literature reviews to keep the HP program current. Provide input for database development and utilization. Conduct peer record reviews as directed by the credentialing body and local medical oversight process. Assist in developing and updating job descriptions, performance standards, and clinical practice guidelines. Assist with short and long‑term fiscal planning. Attend meetings with POTFF staff and medical providers as required. Ensure safe and effective operation of patient‑care equipment and maintain a safe working environment. Participate in in‑service training for HP or POTFF staff. Attend required training courses and conferences to maintain certification. Maintain 100% compliance with local mandatory command training. Document care in the Military’s Electronic Health Record (e.g., AHLTA, GENESIS) and the HP Enterprise‑wide database (e.g., Smartbase) as required. Perform tasks within the PT position scope and assignable by the HP Program Manager and/or Coordinator. Collect and report data as requested by the HP Program Manager and/or Coordinator. Proficiently utilize computers, software, and technologies required by the HP Program Manager and/or Coordinator. Required Education, Experience, Skills & Training U.S. citizenship. Secret or Top Secret clearance, or ability to obtain one. Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. Certification through the ABPTS as OCS or SCS, or NATA certification as ATC. Maintain credentialing requirements in good standing at the local MTF. Ability to meet physical demands of SOF training (hiking, austere environments, etc.). Capability to assist with strength and conditioning testing and lift up to 25 kg. Minimum five years of continuous manual therapy experience in sports medicine, preferably with collegiate, Olympic, professional, or SOF athletes. Fluent oral and written English communication. Maintain current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification by the American Heart Association. Desired Education, Experience, Skills or Training Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy. Prior military and/or SOF experience. Additional credentials such as Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).
