Registered Nurse - Hospice of Cincinnati - Field Team

Job Overview Step into a meaningful role within our Hospice Care Team as a Registered Nurse dedicated to supporting patients and families during some of life’s most vulnerable moments. You will serve as a trusted resource for nurses, physicians, caregivers, and loved ones, helping maintain comfort, dignity, and continuity of care. Location Hospice of Cincinnati – This position requires travel throughout the North Region of Cincinnati. Mileage reimbursement at $0.72 per mile. Work Schedule Day Shift (40 hours weekly) – No weekends or holidays. Hours – 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. For details, view TriHealth benefits: Job Requirements Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing (Required). New hires must obtain a BSN within 5 years of hire (Required). Up to 1 year of clinical experience in nursing (Required). Knowledge of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex health‑care needs at various stages of the life cycle. Registered Nurse license (Required). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required). Preferred: Certification in applicable specialty once eligible. Preferred: Membership in related professional organization. Job Responsibilities Perform initial and ongoing assessment of patients and families, completing assessment tools and documenting findings per TriHealth guidelines. Communicate assessment findings and care recommendations to other health‑care providers. Plan individualized patient and family care, set short‑ and long‑term goals, and update care plans as needed based on input and clinical needs. Provide a safe, therapeutic environment; uphold patient autonomy, dignity, and rights; address ethical and cultural considerations. Recognize emergency situations and take appropriate action; complete documentation within scheduled timeframe. Train, educate, and serve as a subject‑matter expert for other staff; communicate information related to surgical cases and execute physician orders. Evaluate care plans, document patient/family responses, collaborate with the health‑care team, and supervise delegated tasks. Perform technical skills such as medication administration, monitoring, and use of equipment per policy and acceptable standards. Foster professional growth and continuous improvement through peer review, continuing education, and knowledge sharing.
