Registered Nurse – Postpartum/Mother-Baby

Position Type: Contract
Location: New York, NY 10037
Schedule: Night Shift
Hours: 34.5 hours/week

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Postpartum/Mother-Baby position. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maternal and child health and demonstrated experience with IV insertion, phlebotomy, and conscious sedation.

Required Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Maternal & Child nursing experience .
• Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience .
• Minimum 2 years of Conscious Sedation experience .

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited nursing program required.

Required Licensure & Certifications

• Active New York State RN License .
• Primary Source Verification of RN license and registration through the New York State Department of Education (NYSED) .
• AHA BLS certification required.
• AHA ACLS certification required.
• NRP Certification required.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns .
• Monitor maternal and newborn conditions and promptly report changes in patient status.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
• Safely administer medications and IV therapies.
• Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy as required.
• Assist with procedures involving conscious sedation when applicable.
• Educate mothers and families regarding postpartum and newborn care.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation.
• Follow established hospital policies, procedures, and clinical standards.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Maintain strict patient safety and infection-control standards
