Viticus Group is seeking talented and motivated Audio Visual Technicians to join our growing team! Whether you are beginning your AV career or bring years of technical expertise, we offer a structured career progression model that recognizes experience, technical knowledge, leadership, and professional growth.
As an Audio Visual Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional audiovisual support for conferences, continuing education programs, laboratories, live events, and client experiences. Responsibilities include setting up, operating, troubleshooting, maintaining, and striking professional audio, video, lighting, and presentation equipment while providing outstanding customer service and technical support.

- AV Technician I – Entry Level
- AV Technician II – Experienced
- AV Technician III / Senior – Advanced
Viticus Group utilizes a structured career progression model to ensure candidates are placed into the position that best aligns with their demonstrated experience, technical capabilities, certifications, leadership potential, and overall qualifications.
As part of the application process, candidates will complete a technical screening questionnaire designed to help us better understand their background and experience. The questionnaire, along with the candidate's resume, certifications, interview performance, references, and overall qualifications, will be used to determine the appropriate career level and starting compensation.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE SKILLS & ABILITIES
EDUCATION
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Audio Visual Technology, Broadcast Media, Information Technology, Communications, or a related field is preferred; equivalent combination of education, technical training, certifications, and relevant work experience will also be considered.
- Industry certifications (CTS, Dante, Q-SYS, Crestron, OSHA 10, Lift Certifications, etc.) are highly desirable and may be considered when determining career level placement.
EXPERIENCE
Viticus Group is hiring for multiple career levels within our Audio Visual Technician Career Pathway. Candidates will be evaluated based on their overall qualifications and may be placed into the level that best aligns with their demonstrated experience, technical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and operational readiness.
Typical experience guidelines include:
- AV Technician I: 0–2 years of professional Audio Visual or live event production experience.
- AV Technician II: 3–9 years of progressively responsible Audio Visual experience with demonstrated ability to independently support events and troubleshoot technical systems.
- AV Technician III / Senior: 10+ years of advanced Audio Visual experience with expertise in complex event production, technical leadership, mentoring, and operational planning.
Career level placement is determined through a comprehensive evaluation of each candidate, including:
- Resume and employment history
- Technical screening questionnaire
- Relevant certifications and specialized training
- Interview performance
- Technical knowledge and demonstrated competencies
- Leadership experience
- References
- Business and operational needs
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Successful candidates should possess many of the following competencies. The depth and complexity of these skills will vary depending on the level of placement.
Technical Expertise- Working knowledge of professional audio, video, lighting, and presentation systems.
- Experience with microphones, digital audio consoles, projectors, LED video walls, video switchers, livestreaming platforms, presentation software, and related AV technologies.
- Understanding of signal flow, AV networking, and system troubleshooting.
- Ability to install, configure, operate, maintain, and strike AV equipment safely and efficiently.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Apple operating systems, Keynote, and other presentation technologies.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships with presenters, clients, vendors, and internal departments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Professional demeanor while representing Viticus Group during conferences, educational programs, and special events.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to identify technical issues quickly and implement effective solutions with minimal disruption.
- Exercise sound judgment while managing multiple priorities under pressure.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also performing independently.
- Demonstrate accountability, initiative, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Senior-level candidates should possess experience mentoring, coaching, or leading other technicians during event execution.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
- Maintain dependable attendance, punctuality, and schedule flexibility to support business and event operations.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and event requirements.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional travel.
- Ability to safely climb ladders, operate lifts, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in laboratory environments with potential exposure to human and veterinary cadavers or specimens while following all required safety protocols.
