Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hours Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in emergency room License: Required RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: - At least two years of emergency room experience with trauma Level I and II in the past two years. - Proficiency in Epic EMR, used within the last five years. - No more than five days of requests for time off. Description: Must be available for the specified start date. No guarantees for blocked scheduling requests. Ratios in the emergency room are 1:5 for medical and 1:6 for fast track. Encounter level is equivalent to a Level 3 trauma center. Facilities include 52 beds with four trauma bays. On average, the emergency room treats approximately 200 patients per day. A variety of common emergency diagnoses and treatment needs are expected. Common medications include ICU drips for holding patients. The department is staffed with varied shifts for physicians and mid-level providers, including pediatric board-certified personnel. Charge nurses are not present; the house supervisor assists as needed. Emergency department techs with two or more years of experience are included in the staffing. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 within the unit for specific treatments. All imaging services are supported within the emergency room, with transport for critical patients. Laboratory tests may be performed by emergency department techs or registered nurses. Shifts include varied start times, promoting a modified self-scheduling approach. Weekend shifts include four per four-week block, and holiday requirements are typically two out of five. Scrub color required is navy blue. The unit provides one day for new employee orientation and one day for clinical training. Cancellation policy allows for the client to cancel hours equivalent to guaranteed weekly hours during assignments.
