In this role, you will work directly with children, adolescents, and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, helping them build communication, social, behavioral, and independent living skills through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). 2026-2027 Behavior Technician Training Calendar Trainings are generally scheduled 9-3/330PM & 415-615PM CohortDays 1-5Day 6 Practicum 1 | Sept 28 - Oct 2, 2026 | Oct 5, 2026 2 | Oct 12 - Oct 16, 2026 | Oct 19, 2026 3 | Oct 26 - Oct 30, 2026 | Nov 2, 2026 What You’ll Do Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) Teach communication, social, self-help, and daily living skills Collect behavioral data and complete session documentation Collaborate with families and clinical supervisors Help individuals increase independence and improve their overall quality of life Realistic Job Preview This is a hands-on behavioral health position. Many clients receive ABA services because they engage in behaviors that interfere with learning, safety, relationships, or independence. Behavior Technicians should expect to work with individuals who may exhibit: Elopement (running away) Tantrums Aggression, including hitting, pushing, pinching, scratching, kicking, or biting Property destruction Self-injurious behavior Refusal or non-compliant behaviors Emotional regulation challenges Who Thrives in This Position? Successful Behavior Technicians are typically individuals who: Remain patient and composed during challenging situations and can respond professionally when clients engage in behaviors such as tantrums, aggression, or emotional dysregulation. Are coachable and open to feedback, recognizing that ongoing training, supervision, and skill development are essential components of the role. Are active, dependable, and adaptable, with the ability to work in dynamic environments while maintaining professionalism, consistency, and attention to client safety. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and sitting on the floor Ability to move quickly to maintain client safety Working in homes, schools, clinics, and community settings Participation in role-play and hands-on training activities Paid Training Provided All newly hired Behavior Technicians complete Beachmont's paid 6-day training program, which includes: New Hire Orientation HIPAA Training Introduction to ABA Reinforcement, Prompting, and Teaching Strategies Skill Acquisition and Behavior Reduction Procedures Data Collection and Documentation Ethics and Professional Conduct In-Person Skills Competency Practicum Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or GED 18+ Years Old Reliable transportation Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to receive coaching and feedback Ability to pass a background check Preferred: Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities Background in education, childcare, psychology, healthcare, or behavioral health Why Join Beachmont?
