Arts and Creative Industries Employer Relations Manager

Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3) Salary: $65,000 - $70,000 Job Description The Arts and Creative Industries Employer Relations Manager will support Binghamton students' career success by harnessing and integrating the knowledge employers and alumni can provide students. This position will support the regional/state economic development initiative to enhance employer connections, and workforce development needs through skill building programs, overall placement rates, and internship rates. Core Responsibilities Develop new and maintain existing industry & employer relationships within the region for Binghamton University. Champion the use of internships as a hiring pipeline tool and provide consultation in an effort to develop strong internship and shadowing programs for Binghamton students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Build relationships/connections with other leaders/organizations within workforce and economic development roles related to college student hiring. Facilitate networking and skills training opportunities for students with a focus on retaining students locally and regionally within the state. Create and facilitate an arts mentoring circle focused on bringing students within the arts programs and alumni/employers within these areas together. Conduct in-depth industry research to stay abreast of employment and recruiting trends relevant to Binghamton University's diverse array of majors and programs. Represent the university at recruitment events held on and off-campus to foster relationships with both new and existing employers. Occasional weekend and evening commitments. Travel within the region, state, and country will be required. Requirements Bachelor's degree 3+ years of related experience in an arts, entertainment, creative industries, communications, media, sales marketing, or recruiting position Attention to detail with customer service and follow-up skills Public speaking experience Verbal and written communication skills Ability to work collaboratively Willingness to travel regularly Preferred Master's degree in an arts, entertainment, creative industry, sales, communications, human resources, or related field 5+ years of relevant industry experience Knowledge of industry and employment trends in diverse fields Connections in local, state, and/or national employment opportunities Additional Information Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
