Transportation Designer

Job TitleYour role at GEI. Essential Responsibilities & DutiesDesign roadway, storm sewer, waterline, wastewater line, and related public works projectsDevelop quality plans, specifications and estimates for multiple projectsWorking on engineering design and coordinating with other technical staffReview and evaluate design and construction practicesPrepare hydrologic and hydraulic reportsAttend project meetings and work in a team environment or independentlyFacilitate meetings with internal staff and external clientsMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program preferredTexas Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain license within 6 months or joiningFour years of experience in transportation and/or general civil designMicroStation and AutoCAD experienceExperience with managing multiple project deadlinesExperience on TXDOT roadway/highway projects or other DOTsExperience municipal street projects (roadway horizontal and vertical alignments, storm sewer design, water/wastewater design, traffic control plans, erosion/ sediment control, pavement marking and signage)Experience with GEOPAK and ORD roadway management designRequired SkillsUnderstanding of complex transportation design elements MicroStation and/or AutoCAD drafting experienceStrong oral and written communication skills for preparation of project reportsCandidates must be capable of working on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environmentWe are GEI.
