Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Pulmonary Nurse to join our team in the Med Surg 2 department at our facility in Athens, GA. This full-time position involves night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM and offers a sign-on bonus along with a specialty differential.

Unit Description

The 12-bed Pulmonary Unit is situated on the 6th floor of our state-of-the-art Main Tower. Our clinical team collaborates closely with hospitalists, pulmonologists, and respiratory therapists to deliver exceptional care to patients facing both acute and chronic respiratory challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to acute care patients by utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Adhere to the organization’s policies and procedures while demonstrating professional growth and accountability.
• Maintain standards of practice and coordinate patient care activities among all assigned staff to ensure quality nursing care.
• Oversee the operational aspects of the unit during your shift, addressing clinical care needs as census demands.
• Effectively communicate patient care updates, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leadership.
• Act as a resource for guidance and support to fellow staff members.
• Patient ratios will be determined by various factors, including patient volume and acuity, with adjustments made as necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Minimum Experience: At least one year of nursing experience in a hospital environment is required.
• Licensure/Certification: Must hold a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Georgia or an NLC/eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification is also required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Two or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting, a Bachelor’s degree, and advanced certification in the relevant specialty area are preferred. Demonstrated clinical competency is essential.
