Position Summary

The School Psychologist will provide onsite school psychology services for the 2026–2027 school year. Under the direction of special education and school leadership, this role is responsible for student assessment, documentation of assessment results, participation in student support meetings, and consultation with teachers, staff, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver school psychology services consistent with National Association of School Psychologists and American Psychological Association ethical and professional standards
• Follow federal, state, and local policies and regulations in the delivery of school psychology services
• Support student rights, welfare, and access to appropriate school and community supports
• Conduct assessments appropriate to the presenting area of concern
• Interpret, analyze, and report assessment results with recommendations related to student learning, social, functional, and behavioral needs
• Participate as an invited member in IEP team meetings
• Participate in Manifestation Determination meetings
• Complete and submit comprehensive psychological evaluation reports within state and local timelines
• Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and assist with the development and implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans
• Assist with the transition of students with disabilities from alternative placements to traditional school settings
• Consult with teachers, school staff, and parents regarding academic supports, behavioral supports, accommodations, and modifications
• Counsel or meet with individual students, small groups of students, or parents as needed
• Serve as a member of Student Services Team, 504 Team, Crisis Team, RtI, and other problem-solving teams
• Support school initiatives related to inclusive practices, RtI, PBIS, and related student support programs
• Coach, support, and consult with teachers or teams regarding progress monitoring
• Assist in the execution of comprehensive threat and risk assessment activities
• Plan and implement professional development as defined by special education leadership
• Provide information and education to school personnel and parents
• Work during designated summer periods to complete assessments, reports, and other assigned duties

Required Qualifications

• Endorsement or eligibility for endorsement as a School Psychologist as prescribed by the Maryland State Department of Education
• Required license
• CPR certification
• Experience assessing students and documenting assessment results
• Knowledge of school psychology practices, special education processes, and student support services
• Ability to work onsite for the 2026–2027 school year

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a public school or district-based environment
• Experience participating in IEP, 504, Manifestation Determination, RtI, PBIS, crisis, or student services teams
• Experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and supporting Behavior Intervention Plans
• Experience supporting students with disabilities and students with behavioral, social, academic, or functional needs
• Strong communication, documentation, consultation, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
