- Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients, order necessary diagnostic tests, and develop personalized care plans
- Assess and manage acute, episodic, or chronic health issues, collaborating with physicians or working independently depending on your credentials
- Instruct patients and their families on preventive measures, wellness practices, and effective disease management
- Prescribe medications and therapies consistent with your scope of practice
- Engage in patient follow-ups and chronic care management to ensure continuity of care
- Work with interdisciplinary teams to deliver seamless, patient-centered care
- Accurately document patient encounters using electronic medical records (EMR)
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- Completion of a recognized Nurse Practitioner program
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Michigan
- National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or a similar specialty
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to acquire within 90 days)
