Employment Type: W2 Contract – 10 Months with Possibility for Extensions
Pay Rate: $15.00–$16.55/hour – Determined based on experience (Paid Weekly)
Shift: 2nd Shift – 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
Work Model: Fully Onsite

Note: This is a W2 only role — C2C and C2H will not be considered.
Role Overview
BEPC is seeking a dependable Forklift Operator to support our customer’s onsite operations in Altavista, VA. This entry-level role involves safely operating powered industrial trucks and material-handling equipment to load, move, and position materials.
The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment. Candidates with 1–2 year of previous experience are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate powered industrial trucks and material-handling equipment.
- Operate gasoline, diesel, electric, or propane-powered forklifts as assigned.
- Use equipment with lifting devices such as forklifts, elevating platforms, or buckets.
- Assist with loading, moving, and positioning materials throughout the facility.
- Follow established operating procedures and workplace safety requirements.
- Inspect the work area and equipment for potential safety concerns.
- Handle materials carefully to help prevent product or equipment damage.
- Maintain an organized and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Complete assigned material-handling activities efficiently and accurately.
- Follow all applicable facility policies and operational procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–2 year of previous experience.
- Ability to safely operate or learn to operate powered industrial trucks and material-handling equipment.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Dependable attendance and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work 2nd shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
- Ability to work onsite in Altavista, VA.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous forklift or powered industrial truck experience.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or industrial environment.
- Familiarity with safe material-handling practices.
