Part time Advanced Chemistry Lab Technician

Compensation $14.00 - $14.92 per hour Position Summary This position monitors and coordinates the activities of assigned laboratories to enable effective and safe lab operations. Responsibilities Assist lab assistants and support faculty and students regarding appropriate use of equipment and lab procedures, mixing chemicals; troubleshoot problems. Set up and take down labs for class when appropriate. Clean and stock materials. Provide necessary materials and equipment required for effective laboratory instruction and experiments. Assist faculty with the preparation of lab materials (mixing chemicals) and lab tests. Monitor and coordinate lab activities; train and/or provide guidance to part-time lab technicians and student assistants. Maintain safe and clean working conditions in the lab. Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment. Prepare specimens for laboratory use. Maintain lab equipment as needed; keep supplies stocked as necessary. Perform similar and related duties as assigned. Qualifications Associates degree and two years of experience working in a science, chemistry or medical laboratory. Must be able to work some evening and weekends. Closing Date Open Until Filled.
