Technologist, Mammography - Part-time

Perform mammography procedures in a technically proficient manner Follow department protocols and specific radiologist direction Corroborate patient clinical history with procedures and document information according to department standards Prepare patients for procedures, provide instructions, obtain cooperation, and minimize anxiety Select and operate breast imaging equipment and associated devices Position patients and equipment to demonstrate the area of interest Explain breast compression while respecting patient ability and comfort Apply radiation protection principles to minimize exposure Assist with stereotactic biopsies Participate in staff meetings Maintain positive relationships with coworkers, physicians, and healthcare team members Maintain an orderly and clean work area Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information Maintain adequate department supply levels Requirements Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with advanced certification in Mammography required Active ARRT certification status maintained through continuing education requirements Illinois State Licensure (IEMA) CPR Certification Experience with stereotactic biopsies and/or willingness to be trained to assist with this procedure Mammography experience preferred but not required Stereotactic biopsy experience a plus Interpersonal and communication skills and ability to present required Knowledge of computer-based applications, email, and standard applications such as Microsoft Office Working knowledge and skills of a mammography technologist, including patient care and completion of clinical exams Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in performing mammography procedures and assisting with stereotactic biopsies while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
