Industrial Painter/Sandblaster

An industrial painter/sandblaster is responsible for applying coatings and performing sandblasting tasks to prepare surfaces for painting, ensuring high-quality finishes and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Surface Preparation: Clean and prepare surfaces for painting by removing grease, dirt, rust, and old paint using sandblasting equipment and other cleaning methods.
• Painting Applications: Apply various coatings using spray guns, brushes, and rollers, ensuring even coverage and adherence to specifications.
• Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain sandblasting and painting equipment, including blast pots and spray systems.
• Mixing Paints: Prepare paints to the required specifications, using tools to measure viscosity and ensure proper consistency.
• Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment.
• Quality Control: Inspect finished work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications, making adjustments as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial painting and sandblasting.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in using various painting methods and equipment, including airless and plural spray systems.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in painting or coatings is preferred.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work in high places and handle heavy equipment; must be able to lift and carry materials as needed.
