Registered Nurse – Oncology Chemo Certified

 

Assignment Details:
• Specialty: Oncology Chemo Certified – Acute Leukemia Unit (15 East)
• Start Date: July 27, 2026
• Contract Length: 16 Weeks
• Shift: Nights – 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Schedule Type: Self-Scheduling (no block scheduling)
• Float Requirement: Required to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed
• Orientation: 72 hours total (Week 1 dayshift orientation + on-unit precepted training)

Unit Overview:
• Adult and Geriatric patient population
• 24-bed Acute Leukemia/Hematology inpatient unit
• Primary focus on newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
• High-volume administration of blood products, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte replacement
• Strong emphasis on infection prevention and patient fall prevention protocols
• Typical staffing goal: 1:4 (may flex to 1:5 based on unit needs)

Required Experience:
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient Hematology/Oncology experience (within most recent 3 years)
• Must have current specialty experience for clinical approval
• Experience with Leukemia/Blood Dyscrasias required (hard stop)
• Travel experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)

Required Certifications:
• BLS
• ACLS
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification
