Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary

Maintain, troubleshoot, document, and repair production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role supports CNC machining centers, production and office equipment, material handling systems, and building infrastructure through preventative maintenance, corrective repair, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Summer Schedule is 4x10 off Friday, 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform independently:

• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair machinery and equipment. CNC machining centers, mills, lathes, grinders, Etc.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical & mechanical apparatus, servo systems, transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment and systems throughout facility.
• Coordinate and/or work with 3rd party or specialty services as needed to accomplish maintenance goals.
• Perform general facilities maintenance, such as building systems troubleshooting, minor construction, painting, and office/equipment moves
• Building systems & facility auditing, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Maintain systems, equipment, and facilities to comply with safety standards and procedures
• Identify supplies and materials (pipe, wiring, repair parts, conduit, etc.) and submit purchase requisitions as needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance, scheduled maintenance and unscheduled repair on material handling equipment. Forklifts, Pallet jacks, Hoists etc.
• Document maintenance and regulatory activities and provide feedback to improve
• Work independently and collaboratively to support production and facility needs
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• CNC machine tool maintenance and repair
• Electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing and mechanical diagnostic and repair abilities
• Knowledge of PLC's, ladder logic, and parametric programming
• General knowledge of machine tools, shop equipment and terminology.
• Carpentry, plumbing, electrical, welding/fabrication, and general building maintenance
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Computer skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Work independently and as part of a team when appropriate.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High School Degree or equivalent.
• 2-7 years' experience in CNC tool machine and facilities maintenance, electrical and mechanical.
• PLC experience or programming logic a plus.
• Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing and electrical equipment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Moderate to frequent exposure to shop environment; may be exposed to dust, odors, oils, fumes, chemicals, noise and moving parts. Work requires the use of PPE on the facility's production floor. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl and move about facility and/or customer's facilities. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
