Ear Training Department Student Assistant

In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:

• Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
  
• Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
  
• Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
  
• Remain in "valid" Visa status as applicable.
  
• A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
  
• Federal Work Study student may apply.
  
• In good disciplinary standing.
  
• Must be located in the U.S.

Reliable, self-sufficient student worker with excellent communication skills to assist the Department Assistant, Chairs, faculty, and students.

The student office assistant would be responsible for managing the Ear Training office while the Department Assistant is away, and serve as the face of the department. This involves welcoming students, answering questions, taking messages, and managing faculty office hours (keeping track of office hours and letting faculty know when students arrive, and other small tasks.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Experience with working with people,
• Excellent communication skills;
• Experience with Google Docs/Sheets.
• Able to work independently.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

Preferably someone who has completed at least one semester of Ear Training.

Expected Hours Per Week 10

Expected dates and times of shifts: Ideally 12-2 pm, or 1-3 pm Monday - Friday

Hourly Rate: $16.45
