Software Development Engineer (Java)

We are seeking a talented and driven hybrid-remote Professional Software Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain robust Java-based applications and GraphQL APIs deployed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Leveraging the Spring Boot framework and modern cloud-native practices, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-performance backend services. Primary Objective Develop, deploy, and maintain robust and scalable Java-based applications and GraphQL APIs on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Job Responsibilities Utilize the Spring Framework (Spring Boot) to build and enhance backend Data API services, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following object-oriented programming principles and established team standards. Leverage AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Gemini) to accelerate coding, refactoring, documentation, and testing while ensuring rigorous manual oversight. Implement Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices, writing comprehensive unit and integration tests. Actively conduct and participate in thorough peer code reviews. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, Product Managers, and Senior Engineers to translate business needs into actionable technical tasks. Apply appropriate data structures and algorithms to build efficient solutions, optimizing application performance and API response times. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues in production systems independently or with team. Utilize CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth automated software delivery. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging cloud/API technologies, and AI; proactively identify opportunities to adopt AI-native tools for continuous improvement. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members while learning architectural knowledge from senior engineers. Job Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent work history. 2+ years of relevant software development experience. Strong proficiency in software development principles and practices. Experience with full software development lifecycle from concept to deployment. Hands‑on experience with Java, REST APIs, GraphQL, Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data). Solid understanding and experience within a microservices architecture. Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, efficient code. Knowledge of coding standards and best practices. Experience in cloud environments (GCP, AWS, or Azure). Strong problem‑solving skills and troubleshooting capability. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Familiarity with or strong interest in AI-native engineering tools and a proven commitment to staying current with emerging AI technology. Annual Pay Range

107,200 - 130,000 USD
