Designer

Job Title: Designer Location: Amery, Wisconsin Type: 8 month Contract Compensation: $30.00 - $31.50 per hour Work Model: Hybrid – onsite and remote Responsibilities Create, update, and revise sketches, working drawings, and contract documents using SmallWorld GIS software or manual drafting methods to meet customer requirements. Prepare 2D and 3D models, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications. Read and interpret detailed customer requirements, data sheets, and supplier specifications. Collaborate with project engineering, architectural, or technical services staff to complete assignments under supervisor guidance. Design and manage electric distribution projects for new and existing customers, including transformer sizing, underground cable routing, and pole placement. Conduct field assessments and customer interactions as part of project management responsibilities. Prepare documentation to support design drawings, including bills of material and schedules. Assist engineering personnel with formal drawing transmittals and construction issues. Check SAP for new customer contacts, participate in weekly scheduling meetings, and conduct team touchpoints. Perform a mix of field visits to residential, commercial, and construction sites, adhering to standard safety protocols. Requirements Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Organizational and project management abilities. Basic electrical knowledge or background. Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications. GIS or AutoCAD experience is a plus but not required. People skills, a desire to learn, adaptability, and independence. No specific degree required; open to various backgrounds including construction, call center, police, etc. Experience in electrical or utility fields is a plus. No certifications required.
