Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in the telemetry unit, utilizing critical thinking and clinical expertise to monitor and respond to patient needs. Supervises nursing staff and collaborates with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, safe patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and interpret patient data, including cardiac rhythms and vital signs, to identify potential issues.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions in accordance with physician orders and standards of care.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless communication.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Delegate responsibilities appropriately to nursing staff and supervise their activities.

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.
• At least two years of recent experience in a telemetry or acute care setting.
• Valid BLS certification, with ACLS certification preferred.
• Proficiency in using electronic health records, specifically Epic platform.
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to interpret cardiac telemetry data.
