Job Title: Survey Crew Member Job Description

This role involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions and provides a unique opportunity to grow your career in the field of land surveying. You will start as an instrument person with the potential to advance to a rod person.

• Coordinate daily with field coordinators, project managers, and other office staff.
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and work in a safe manner.
• Supervise and manage all members of the survey crew.
• Operate independently as a one-person crew when required.
• Manage the daily uploading and downloading of data collectors.
• Maintain and charge survey instruments daily.
• Assist the party chief in carrying survey equipment and supplies to job sites.
• Clear vegetation obstructing the line of sight and assist in the collection of survey data.
• Learn and support office tasks during inclement weather, including CAD training.

• Minimum of 7 years’ experience running a crew using robotic total stations and GPS.
• Proficiency in using Trimble or other survey equipment (GPS, Robotics, Total Stations, Levels, and Data Collectors).
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

• Experience with AutoCAD and familiarity with Microstation is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn and follow directions from the Party Chief.
• Experience or familiarity with SHA is preferred but not required.

This position reports to the Party Chief/Field Coordinator and involves assisting in survey tasks safely and effectively. The work is 100% outdoors, requiring readiness to work in different weather conditions. The role offers stability with a firm established for over 50 years, providing a stable backlog of work. Opportunities for overtime are available, though not required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of WINDSOR MILL, MD.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $50.00/hr.
