Bi-weekly orientation starting November 2, 2026.\n Contract Length: 13 weeks.\n Weekend & Holiday Requirements: Every third weekend; every other holiday.\n Distance & Attendance Rules: Strict 40-mile radius rule (no local candidates). Maximum of 3 call-ins permitted before termination.\n \n Key Facility Policies & Floating Rules\n \n Cross-Campus Floating: First to float within skillset. May float to Deaconess Newburgh campus (8 miles away) or Deaconess Midtown campus (11 miles away) with a 2-hour notice.\n Unit Scope & Ratios: 45-bed Med-Surg unit. Night shift ratios are 1:5–7 (Charge nurse takes a full assignment on nights). Patient population includes general Med-Surg (gallbladder, colectomy, appendectomy, joint replacements, ORIF, GI bleed, CHF, COPD, sepsis, respiratory). Charting via Epic (requires check-off class). Teaching facility—may require precepting of students and new hires.
