Your work directly supports engineering, production planning, and quality teams by resolving process issues, improving setups, and contributing to lean initiatives. You will work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate with the shop team to meet production goals.Here's how you'll make an impact on the teamRun multiple machines efficiently and perform simultaneous operations when requiredSet up, adjust, and operate conventional and special-purpose machines for complex production workInterpret blueprints, complex drawings, engineering specifications, and verbal instructionsInterface with engineering to resolve drawing errors and suggest design or tooling improvementsMake complex setups including multiple workpiece stations and custom holding devicesInspect finished parts using gauges, calipers, micrometers, and potentially CMM to ensure conformancePerform statistical process control (SPC) and ensure equipment calibration and routine maintenanceLead or contribute to lean initiatives and provide suggestions for process improvementsTrain and mentor less experienced team membersHere's what you'll need to be successful in this roleFive or more years of industry-related machining experience in a high-technology manufacturing environmentProven ability to read and follow blueprints, complex drawings, and engineering specificationsProficiency making and evaluating complex machine setups and troubleshooting machining problemsWorking knowledge of advanced shop mathematics, including trigonometryStrong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in a teamAbility to perform precision inspection using gauges, calipers, micrometers, and surface plate techniquesCapability to lift up to 50 lbs and meet the physical demands of standing, walking, and manual dexterity required for machine operationHere's what else might help you outSpecialized or division-specific certifications (e.g., certified operator)Experience using coordinate measuring machines (CMM)Prior experience implementing lean manufacturing tools and methodologiesShift 1st 5AM- 1:30PMReady to make your mark?This role may fill quickly.
