Account Manager - Infectious Disease Diagnostics - Greater Chicago Area.

Abbott seeks a Key Account Manager for infectious disease diagnostics in the Greater Chicago area. The role involves managing and growing key accounts through strategic relationship-building, consultative selling, and account expansion across hospital networks and clinical settings.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with customers through business reviews and proactive solution delivery
- Develop and execute strategic account plans to protect customer base and drive annual growth objectives
- Manage sales process and account strategy using SFDC, Power BI, and analytics tools for forecasting and decision-making
- Lead contract negotiations, pricing strategies, and renewal planning to maximize account value
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, distribution, and health system executives to support business objectives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 4 years medical sales experience, preferably in diagnostics
- Experience working with distribution partners
- Willingness to travel within territory up to 35% overnight
- Deep knowledge of laboratory and point-of-care clinical settings
- Strong financial analysis and healthcare market data interpretation skills
- Demonstrated complex selling and contract negotiation experience
