Posted Job Title Senior Research Investigator Job Profile Title Research Investigator, Senior Job Description Summary The Department of Neuroscience seeks a Senior Research Investigator for the De Biasi and Dani labs, whose research focuses on elucidating the etiology of psychiatric disorders, particularly substance use disorder and addiction, and advancing therapeutic strategies. The successful applicant will design, lead, and oversee advanced behavioral, neurochemical, and systems-level experiments. They will play a crucial role in all aspects of the research, including development, implementation, data analysis, and reporting, and will assess proposed projects by conducting feasibility studies to provide valuable input regarding viability, efficiency, timeline, and study design. This includes overseeing workflow and productivity of lab personnel and providing training on specific techniques as necessary. They will be responsible for data analysis, preparation of manuscripts, and presenting research findings through various forums. Job Description Job Responsibilities Design, perform, and analyze behavioral neuropharmacology experiments. This position requires experience with stereotactic injections, viral manipulations, the use of genetic models in substance use research, in vivo and ex vivo monitoring of neurochemical release, and behavioral tests and analyses. The ideal candidate will also have experience in apparatus design. Analytical support to ongoing experiments within the lab. Review, edit, format, and write grant proposals and manuscripts for publication. Direct the design and implementation of and assist with original experiments. Perform data collection and management. Administer literature reviews. Assist in lab management and regulatory compliance issues. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Position is contingent on continued sponsored project funding. Qualifications Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Philosophy, and 5 to 7 years of postdoctoral experience is required. Job Location - City, State Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Department / School Perelman School of Medicine Pay Range $80,891.00 - $105,000.00 Annual Rate Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level.
