Desktop Technician

Location: Harbor Point, MD

Onsite Flexibility: Onsite

• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 7 months
• Pay Rate: $30.00 $35.00 / Hour (USD)

The main function of a Desktop Technician is to be responsible for the installation, configuration, and administration of Windows desktops . These roles will support high volume walk-up traffic in the innovations hub at Owings Mills.

• Assist in the software and hardware life cycle management processes including research, packaging, quality assurance, and deployment preparation
• Set up new users, including desktop configuration, email accounts, LDAP accounts, VPN accounts
• Support employees, both local and remote, with desktop issues, account issues, and access to various internal services
• Troubleshoot software issues on employees' desktops/laptops
• Some off hours support may apply

• Knowledge of Windows OS
• Experience with desktop installation and configuration
• Experience troubleshooting desktop issues as well as mobile devices

• Associate's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required

• 5 7 years of experience required

• Interview process: In person; candidates will be given scenarios (e.g., a user calling from home how would you go about resolving the issue?), will then be given a laptop and asked to fix something basic
