Job Type: Full-Time | In-Person
Schedule: Monday-Friday, School-Based Daylight Hours
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00/hour (based on education and experience)

Overview

Diversified Treatment Alternative Centers (DTAC) is seeking compassionate and dependable Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to support children and adolescents within our Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) School-Based Program in Montgomery, PA.

This role provides direct behavioral and emotional support to youth in educational settings, helping students build coping skills, improve self-regulation, and achieve individualized treatment goals while collaborating with clinical staff, educators, and families.

Position Summary

The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) provides one-on-one and group behavioral support services to children and adolescents within school settings. Working under the supervision of clinical staff, the BHT assists students in developing positive behavioral, emotional, and social skills while supporting individualized treatment plans and educational success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct behavioral support services to children and adolescents in school settings
  • Implement individualized treatment and behavior support plans
  • Assist students with emotional regulation, coping skills, and social skill development
  • Utilize positive behavioral interventions and reinforcement strategies
  • Support students in maintaining appropriate classroom behavior and engagement
  • Collaborate with teachers, school personnel, clinicians, and families
  • Monitor and document client progress toward treatment goals
  • Complete required documentation, session notes, and reports in a timely manner
  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, and ongoing training opportunities
  • Maintain professional boundaries and uphold confidentiality standards

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with children, adolescents, or individuals with behavioral health needs

Preferred

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Education, Counseling, or a related field
  • Previous experience in IBHS, behavioral health, education, therapeutic support, childcare, or residential treatment
  • Experience working with children who have behavioral, emotional, or developmental challenges
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and behavioral interventions

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required Pennsylvania clearances (Act 33/34 and FBI Fingerprinting)
  • Ability to work effectively within school environments
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Work Location

This is a school-based position located in the Montgomery PA Area. Employees will work directly within assigned educational settings supporting students receiving IBHS services.
