Description:
Positions in this job family are responsible for performing technical direct and indirect nursing care in a medical clinic for individuals under the supervision or direction of a registered nurse, licensed physician, or dentist.
This includes taking temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, along with various other technical nursing tasks to provide health care to patients.
Employees perform nursing procedures in accordance with their knowledge, skills, and licensure.
Participation in the evaluation of responses to interventions is expected.
Employees assist in assessing, reporting, and recording the health status of patients in various settings.
They participate in developing and implementing appropriate aspects of a plan of care.
Medications are administered as ordered.
Appropriate patient information is reported to the supervisor or relevant health team member.

Level Descriptor:
Level I
This is the basic level where employees perform routine entry-level tasks under close professional supervision to build their skills in providing nursing care.

Level II
This is the career level where employees perform a full range of nursing assignments and perform tasks at the full performance level.
Responsibilities include providing guidance and training to others in completing routine nursing tasks.

Education and Experience:
Level I
Education requirements include possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a Licensed Practical Nurse approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing.

Level II
Education requirements include possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a Licensed Practical Nurse and one year of practical nursing experience.

Special Requirements:
Some positions may require that applicants be willing and able to fulfill all job-related travel normally associated with the position.
