OpSource is teaming up with an established industrial construction contractor headquartered in Kingsport, TN to staff a high-impact project in Bristol, TN. We’re hiring an Industrial Electrical Systems Technician who can move confidently from blueprint to build, and from test to troubleshoot—all while keeping the crew safe and the site organized.

A day in the life

It’s Monday morning on a Bristol job site. You walk the area, review schematics, and map out your conduit runs. By mid-morning you’ve installed and terminated feeders, verified switchgear connections, and logged voltage and resistance readings. After lunch, you diagnose a control-system fault, update a material list, and coordinate with building principals and supervisors to sequence the next phase. Before you leave, you tidy the work area and stow your tools—ready for tomorrow.

Compensation & schedule

• $28.00 – $33.00 per hour
• Monday–Friday, first shift
• Overtime as required

What you’ll do

• Translate drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code requirements into precise installation layouts.
• Install, inspect, replace, and repair wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduit, feeders, and related components.
• Test equipment and circuits for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance; document results.
• Install, service, and test switchgear, transformers, and switchboard metering.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical and low-voltage control systems and associated devices.
• Uphold OSHA and company safety standards; promptly report and address any hazards or policy deviations.
• Care for, track, and maintain company-issued tools.
• Inspect completed work and leave areas clean and orderly.
• Partner with building principals and supervisory staff to deliver quality outcomes.

What you bring

• 3–5 years of industrial experience as a Journeyman Electrician with installation and maintenance scope.
• Strong conduit skills (bending and pulling).
• Hands-on troubleshooting across electrical equipment and power distribution; adept with interpreting specs and prints.
• Ability to produce accurate material lists.
• Comfort working at heights.
• Calm, decisive performance under time-sensitive conditions.
