Estimator

Project Development and Delivery, an innovative origination within Transmission Line Engineering, that is tasked with the integration of clean energy into one of our largest utility clients' electrical systems seeks a dedicated, dynamic, and innovative Estimator to augment its team. The selected Estimator will be on the leading edge of incorporating renewable energy generation such as Offshore Wind, Large Scale Batteries and Hydroelectric into the distribution system. In addition, the selected Estimator will support large scale infrastructure projects throughout our service territory. The candidate must be familiar with the engineering, design, and construction of substations and transmission facilities. The individual must have prior experience in developing electrical, mechanical and or civil cost estimates for substations and/or transmission projects. An understanding of the capital budget process and utility economics in the preparation of authorization and appropriation estimates is preferred. Strong oral and written communications skills are required. Computer proficiency is required including knowledge of Microsoft Project/Office and estimating computer applications and databases. Familiarity with local, state, national, and industry codes and standards are preferred. Required Skills & Experience: 3–8+ years of estimating experience supporting construction, infrastructure, power, industrial, transmission, or substation projects Experience developing cost estimates for substation and/or transmission projects Experience preparing electrical, mechanical, and/or civil construction estimates Strong understanding of the engineering, design, and construction of substations and transmission facilities Experience creating conceptual, authorization, and appropriation estimates Ability to build estimates from preliminary scopes, drawings, sketches, and incomplete design packages Strong proficiency with estimating software such as: CostOS Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and other cost databases/applications Experience evaluating alternative designs and construction approaches to optimize project costs Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with engineering, project management, and construction teams Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines Nice to Have Skills & Experience: Utility industry experience Transmission & Distribution (T&D) experience Experience supporting renewable energy projects (battery storage, offshore wind, hydroelectric, grid interconnections) Understanding of utility capital budgeting, authorization packages, and appropriation estimates Familiarity with industry codes and standards #J-18808-Ljbffr Insight Global
