Director of Plant Operations (DPO) – Assisted Living Facility

We are seeking an experienced Director of Plant Operations (DPO) to oversee maintenance and facility operations at an assisted living community. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on maintenance experience, excellent organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of regulatory compliance and safety requirements within a senior living or healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all maintenance and building operations throughout the community.
• Manage and coordinate in-house maintenance schedules and daily work assignments.
• Schedule, coordinate, and oversee outside vendors and contractors .
• Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance program for building systems and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory, safety, and facility requirements .
• Conduct and document regular safety inspections .
• Maintain and inspect emergency systems , including emergency equipment and other critical building systems.
• Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and facility-related issues.
• Perform and oversee general maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other building repairs.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection documentation, and compliance logs.
• Ensure the community remains safe, functional, and well maintained for residents and staff.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a Director of Plant Operations, Maintenance Director, Facilities Manager, or Lead Maintenance role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and EPA Universal Certification required .
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety requirements in an assisted living, senior living, healthcare, or similar environment strongly preferred.
• Experience coordinating both internal maintenance staff and outside vendors.
• Knowledge of safety inspections and emergency building systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to respond effectively to emergency maintenance situations.
