Resident Engineer - Roadway & Bridges

What You Will Do: Resident Engineer – Roadway & Bridges to join our Construction Services Team in Chicago, IL. This role requires regular attendance at our Chicago office. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Conduct project meetings with clients and document proceedings. Prepare and monitor project schedules. Perform periodic construction observation and inspection. Possess basic surveying interpretation skills. Prepare reports and correspondence. Prepare and check quantities for measurement and payment purposes. Prepare construction payment applications. Negotiate and prepare construction change orders. Review submittals and other technical data. Be proficient with construction management software for document management and scheduling. Perform constructability reviews and value engineering studies. Assist with risk-management assessments. Prepare and monitor quality control and assurance plans. What you will bring to our firm: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management preferred. Professional engineering license. Seven or more years of experience. IDOT documentation certification required. Experience with Primavera P6 preferred. Ten-hour OSHA safety course completed. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Good oral and written communication skills. Must possess a driver’s license to fulfill the essential functions of the position. Compensation: Salary range: $98,000 - $140,000, dependent upon experience and geographic location.
