Avionics Technician II

Avionics TechnicianAvionics Technicians I-III are responsible for fabricating wire harnesses and cables used in electrical and electronic equipment systems for satellites and space system components for the International Space Station, Artemis and Orion programs as well as commercial programs. Technicians are also responsible for assembling satellite buses and subsystems, and assembly of other complex electromechanical projects. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Cape Canaveral, Florida.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Measures, cuts, solders and or crimps wire and contacts to fabricate wire harnessReads instructions, such as work orders, diagrams, and wire lists to determine materials needed and sequence of assemblyAssembles cables, satellite buses, and electromechanical systems.Performs potting of connectors to protect from water/dust intrusionLabels and packages cable harness assemblies for shipmentAdhere to all Quality Management Systems standards and proceduresTreat all team members with respect and dignity ensuring a collaborative culture is continually developed and maintained.Other duties as assignedRequired Experience and Education:Three (3+) years' experience as an electrical/cable fabrication technician or other relevant industry experience. Applicants with experience that exceed the minimum may be considered for a higher-level Avionics Technician position.High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in related field preferred. Experience in lieu of education may be considered.Experience working with wire crimping and connector soldering.Experience with engineering drawings, wire diagrams, and electrical schematics.IPC J-Std-001 and/or IPC-620 certification, NASA 8739.4 certified.Commitment to providing the highest quality products and services that meet or exceed the requirements and expectations of our customer, actively pursuing opportunities for continual improvements of service quality.Electromechanical systems and assembly background.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and fix problems that may arise.Ability to collaborate with many different teams/individuals to reach a common goal by building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation maintaining positive and professional relationships, and contributing to a culture of inclusionPhysical Requirements:Sedentary Work – occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force to carry, lift, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
